Puyallup Valley Blend coffee is like a comfortable country home with a small well-behaved dragon living in the back yard. The nose is seduced by a promising fragrance of sweet cherry and citrus, and the tongue is romanced by ripe plum, sweet chocolate and slightly untamed spicy undertones of jalapeño and curry.
Precious coffees from absolutely different Central and South American growing regions are roasted and combined to produce a surprisingly supple mouthfeel and gentle drinkability. This is remarkable as the separate coffees alone possess so much overt flavor as to be considered overpowering by many.
Today many roasters are blending green coffee first and roasting the batch to one profile; Martin Henry still takes the long route to individuality by bringing each coffee to roast nirvana separately and blending after.
